What our tester has to say...

I like what I see in Outlook Plus 5. It's very easy to setup and you will be backing up your email and more in not time. Actually Outback Plus is perfectly capable of backing up all your typical personal date like My Documents, Explorer favorites, your Desktop even FireFox settings. I guess the author thought since you are looking for an outlook backup you don't use Thunderbird. One thing I really liked, the author added a simple uncheck box for My Music and My Photos. I have tons of each and really don't need a daily or even weekly backup of all these pictures and songs. Another nice feature I did not find in many other backup programs Outback Plus will warn you a few minutes before a scheduled backup process starts. The manual is basically the help file and well done, again with none professional users in mind.

The program is designed for people who want a backup of their stuff simple quick and easy. It even closes Outlook for you if you should forget to do it. On the complaint side just one thing, backing up to CD or DVD is only supported via a third party program. That may not be too big of an issue with XP many users. However it's a different story with older windows editions especially considering how much trouble packet writers were in the early days. Let's hope these couple items are improved in the next version.

I personally will buy a few flash drives with this little jewel and it make a perfect Christmas present for many family members and you can be sure most need it and even new users will be able to run Outback Plus 5.

Outback Plus 5 can be downloaded and tried for 15 days without any restrictions. It maybe not the least expensive outlook program but it does it's job well and really can be your only data backup program. OutBack will not backup Express. If you have Outlook Express look at Express Assist 7.
