your level of expertise. It's moderately priced. The
Eazy Backup can be downloaded or is available on CD
media. As the name indicates, the program is easy to
install and offers several shortcuts to backup the data
from your favorite applications.
The lack of direct CD-R/RW and DVD-R/RW
and no FTP server backup option lets Eazy Backup fall
behind its competitors in the same price range. However,
the program works well and users will get familiar with
it fast.

Designed to easily backup all those files
the typical user would not even realize had to be backed
up, Eazy Backup 3.0 comes preset and ready to back up
e-mail, address book, favorites and more. I was easily
able to back up my favorites and my address book using
these presets. Also, I had no difficulty in creating
a new backup task
that saved personal files, folders and other programs
not in the default configuration.
I found the log is automatically generated
and saved in plain text at the end of a backup session.
If I did not check the box to have "in use files
included when possible," the program would notify
me of them and prompt for a course of action. The log
includes notices about these files and whether or not
they were included in the backup.
I did have to be logged on to the computer
for the program to run a scheduled backup, but I found
that the program will run as soon as I log in if there
was a missed backup. I did discover that I can close
out the program completely with a scheduled backup,
and when the time came to run it, the program would
activate what it needed and back up my files.
Much to my dismay, the program requires
the use of any CD burning software installed on the
computer. I did burn a backup CD; however, the program
used the built-in Windows CD burner and gave me no choice
to use another program. It may be possible to set the
program up to use Nero, Roxio, or another program, but
that was too much hassle for me. I would suggest using
another program if you have any intention to burn backup
discs.
