I guess I will keep this review as short as the program features. The features may be few, but they work well and anybody can use ABC Outlook Express Backup. The only thing you have to do is select a backup destination. Well, if you have multiple identifies (on the computer! ! ) you need to choose yours. There is no scheduler and a less-than-automated archive structure. It's simply backing up Outlook Express and your favorites.

The restore process is as easy as the backup. The program can actually be used to move the Outlook Express e-mail accounts and everything else Outlook related to a new machine. It does it well and fast. The 15-day trial does backup and restore everything but the account settings. So, don't think you can use the program for free to move all your clients'' express installations. The licensed version however is well suited for the task, and very reasonably priced site and enterprise licenses are available.

How to use ABC Outlook Express Backup


Backup
You must close Outlook Express and Windows Messenger. Don't run them during the backup process.

ABC Outlook Express Backup will allow you to choose the Outlook Express identity for the files you want to back up. ABC Outlook Express Backup enables you to back up your Microsoft Outlook Express Data.

Rules:
ABC Outlook Express Backup recognizes the user's rules created in Microsoft Outlook Express and enables the user to back up those rules.

E-mail/News Accounts:
ABC Outlook Express Backup allows the user to back up all accounts created. These accounts can be e-mail accounts provided by the user's ISP, any POP3 e-mail account the user owns whether free or paid for, Internet news accounts or Hotmail accounts.

Messages:
ABC Outlook Express Backup allows the user to back up all e-mail messages, newsgroup messages and mail folders.

Address Book:
ABC Outlook Express Backup allows the user to back up Windows Address Book (with file extension .wab).

Block Senders List:
Microsoft Outlook Express allows the user to block certain addresses. ABC Outlook Express Backup enables the user to backup and restore the list created in the “Block Senders” category.

Signatures:
The signatures used at the end of e-mail messages can also be backed up and restored using ABC Outlook Express Backup.

Step 1: Choose an Identity to back up. The list of identities allows you to choose which identities will be included in the backup file.

Step 2: You must select at least one item to back up; otherwise, an error message will be shown.

Step 3: Choose a backup filename. The backup file must be given a filename. Please click the "browse" button to compose a filename (*.soe).

Step 4: Enter description of the backup file.

Step 5: Click the "Backup Now" button.

Restore

You must close Outlook Express and Windows Messenger. Don't run them during the restore process.

Step 1: Choose a backup file to restore. Please click the "browse" button to select a backup file (*.soe).

Step 2: You must select at least one item to restore; otherwise, an error message will be shown.

Step 3: Choose a target identity to restore.

Step 4: Click the "Restore Now" button.
